RAVN-X React robotic moving targets

Our targets shoot back. RAVN-X React robotic moving targets are autonomous force-on-target training robots that maneuver across the range and return fire with TRACER-X laser — so trainees must move, take cover and engage as they would against a real adversary.

RAVN-X React

Force-on-target (FoT) training · Our targets shoot back

RAVN-X React is the RAVN-X platform configured for force-on-target (FoT) training. Each autonomous, geo-positioned unit wears a TRACER-X sensing vest, maneuvers across the range and shoots back with TRACER-X laser technology — so trainees must move, take cover and engage as they would against a real adversary, while every hit is scored in real time.

React shares the RAVN-X all-terrain AWD chassis, operator tablet and C2 console with RAVN-X Stinger.

Capabilities

A force-on-target training robot that fights back

Laser shoot-back

A TRACER-X laser on a pan-and-tilt mount returns fire at the trainees. Standing in the open has a consequence, exactly as it would in a real engagement.

Autonomous maneuver

Each unit is GNSS geo-positioned and moves across the range on an all-terrain AWD chassis, so threats move and change position instead of waiting on a static stand.

Every hit scored

The TRACER-X sensing vest registers each hit on the robot in real time. Units hit go to hit-down status on the instructor's console.

Day and thermal sensors

A guiding day camera and thermal view feed the instructor tablet and the C2 console, with live video from every unit.

Instructor tablet

Speed and battery, laser pan-and-tilt position, vehicle roll and pitch, heading and laser direction, and a geo map showing the vehicle's orientation.

C2 multi-unit console

Tactical map of all units, active/standby/hit-down status, distance and shot count per target, event log and full integration with TRACER-X after-action review.

Force-on-target training

Robotic moving targets with consequences

Static and pop-up targets teach marksmanship. They do not teach a team to fight. RAVN-X React adds the element that changes behavior under stress: a target that moves on its own and shoots back. Trainees have to use cover, communicate and engage on the move — and the TRACER-X system records how they did it.

  • Autonomous units act as role players and threats in the exercise
  • Trainees equipped with TRACER-X are scored when the robot's laser hits them
  • Shot count, distance and status per target streamed to C2 in real time
  • Event log and activity feed for a complete after-action review
  • Runs on open ranges or inside the COMBAT-X tactical training facility

Questions

RAVN-X React FAQ

What is force-on-target training?

Force-on-target (FoT) training puts trainees against targets that react — moving, changing position and returning fire — instead of static paper or steel. RAVN-X React brings that pressure to the range while scoring every hit in real time.

How do the robots shoot back?

Each unit carries a TRACER-X laser on a pan-and-tilt mount. TRACER-X uses a Class 1 (eye-safe) laser, and hits on trainees equipped with TRACER-X sensors are registered and sent to the control center.

How are hits on the robot registered?

Every RAVN-X React unit wears a TRACER-X sensing vest. Hits are scored in real time and the unit's status changes to hit-down on the C2 multi-unit console.

Can one instructor manage several robots?

Yes. The C2 multi-unit console shows all units on a tactical map, with live day and thermal video, status, distance and shot count per target, plus an event log. The instructor tablet gives detailed telemetry for each vehicle.

What is the difference between RAVN-X React and RAVN-X Stinger?

Both share the RAVN-X all-terrain AWD chassis, operator tablet and C2 console. React is a training robot that returns fire with TRACER-X laser. Stinger is a combat-support unmanned ground vehicle carrying a real weapon, where only a human operator can fire.
