VERTEX-TC3 MedX tactical medicine simulator

Real lives at your hands. VERTEX-TC3 MedX is a tactical medicine simulator that brings tactical combat casualty care (TCCC) into the immersive VERTEX theater — the medic treats an instrumented casualty with real tactile instruments while the team fights to hold security.

VERTEX-TC3 MedX

Tactical combat casualty care · Real tactile instruments

VERTEX-TC3 MedX adds tactical combat casualty care to the immersive theater. While the team holds security against threats on screen, the medic treats an instrumented casualty using real tactile instruments — under the same stress, noise and time pressure as the battlefield.

Medical skills and tactical skills are trained in the same exercise, by the same team, at the same time. Real lives at your hands.

TCCC training under fire

Care under fire

The casualty goes down inside a live tactical scenario. The team must suppress and hold security against on-screen threats while the medic works — exactly the pressure TCCC is meant to prepare for.

Real tactile instruments

The medic treats an instrumented casualty with real instruments, not a mouse or a touchscreen, so the hands learn the procedure under stress, noise and time pressure.

Live vital signs

Heart rate, respiration, SpO₂ and blood pressure are displayed live at the instructor station, showing how the casualty's condition evolves with every decision.

Intervention tracking

The system tracks the casualty's condition and each intervention performed — for example, a tourniquet applied — so the instructor can confirm what was done and when.

Mission objectives

Every exercise has clear objectives: stabilize the casualty, neutralize the threats and extract. Medical care and tactics are evaluated as one mission.

TRACER-X integration

MedX integrates with teams equipped with TRACER-X, linking the casualty-care exercise to force-on-force live simulation and its tactical map and telemetry.

Instructor station

One screen for the casualty and the team

A tactical medicine simulator is only as good as the feedback it gives. The VERTEX-TC3 MedX instructor station shows, in real time, the casualty's vital signs, the interventions applied and the status of the mission — alongside the tactical picture of the team providing security.

  • Live vital signs: heart rate, respiration, SpO₂, blood pressure
  • Casualty condition and intervention tracking (e.g. tourniquet applied)
  • Mission objectives: stabilize, neutralize threats, extract
  • Tactical map, telemetry and team communications
  • Integrated with TRACER-X equipped teams

Questions

VERTEX-TC3 MedX FAQ

What is TCCC training?

TCCC (tactical combat casualty care, also written TC3) is the care of wounded personnel in a tactical environment, where the threat is still present. VERTEX-TC3 MedX trains it inside a live scenario, so the medic learns to treat while the team is still engaged.

Does the medic train alone or with the team?

With the team. While the medic treats the instrumented casualty, the rest of the team holds security against the threats on the VERTEX screens. Both the medical and the tactical tasks are part of the same mission.

What does the instructor see during the exercise?

Live vital signs (heart rate, respiration, SpO₂, blood pressure), the casualty's condition, the interventions performed, the mission objectives, a tactical map, telemetry and team communications.

Is MedX a separate simulator?

VERTEX-TC3 MedX is a medical module of the VERTEX immersive theater. It uses the same ultra-wide training environment and scenarios, adding the instrumented casualty, real instruments and the medical instructor station.

Can it be combined with live simulation?

Yes. MedX is integrated with teams equipped with TRACER-X, the SiNTRES laser engagement system for force-on-force and live-simulation training.
