Firearms readiness shooting training for municipal guards

Many municipal guards have no shooting range of their own — and often no space to build one. SiNTRES brings shooting training for municipal guards to the city instead: a hybrid virtual simulator, a containerized live-fire range or a portable system that sets up in any room.

The training challenge

A guard force without a range still has to train

A municipal guard carries the same responsibility as any armed officer, yet training time competes with patrols, budgets and the simple lack of a place to shoot. Every trip to a borrowed range takes officers off the street, and every box of ammunition limits how often they can practice.

SiNTRES systems are built to remove those obstacles one by one. Laser training runs continuously at zero ammunition cost, so guards can repeat drills as often as instructors want. When live fire is needed, the hybrid simulator lets each officer fire real rounds from an unmodified service weapon directly into the scenario — without leaving the training room.

  • Containerized range that needs only 14 × 5 m of free space — a parking lot is enough
  • A ready-to-use library of progressive use-of-force scenarios for patrol, approach and decision-making
  • Less-lethal options such as Taser, OC spray and baton alongside the firearm
  • Active-shooter-in-schools scenarios, including situations with children
  • Individual and group reports for every session

Recommended systems

Three ways to equip a municipal guard

Officer firing live rounds into a virtual scenario in the SiNTRES hybrid simulator

Hybrid virtual shooting simulator

Our main recommendation: the only simulator in Brazil that combines virtual laser training and live fire into the screen in one system, with a self-healing screen rated for up to 4,000 rounds per m² (about 85,000 per roll).

Mobile Hybrid Range

A safe, acoustically treated ballistic range in a container or truck: 3 lanes, live fire on paper targets up to 7 m and live fire into the virtual environment from 5 to 900 m.

Portable Simulator

Self-contained and ready in 15 minutes in any room of at least 2 × 4 m — up to 8 trainees, 100% offline, with an upgrade path to hybrid live fire.

Start where you are, grow when you are ready

Designed around your space

We design the simulation room or the range around what the guard actually has — a classroom, a corner of the headquarters or an open lot for the container. The container can later be moved and transported to another location.

Training at your headquarters

Installation and operator training take place on site. The software is in Portuguese, and custom scenarios can be recorded on themes chosen by your instructors to reflect local procedures and the city's reality.

Support and upgrades

Remote support is provided within 4 hours, and on-site technical visits within 72 hours when needed. Systems can grow along an upgrade path: single screen, then theater, then hybrid live fire.

Questions

Municipal guard training FAQ

Our guard has no shooting range. Can we still train with live ammunition?

Yes. The containerized ballistic range was conceived for exactly this situation: it needs only 14 × 5 m of free space, is acoustically treated and has projection and sensors protected by ballistic plates. Alternatively, the hybrid simulator lets officers fire live rounds into the screen inside a dedicated simulation room.

Do guards use their own service weapons?

Yes. In the hybrid simulator each officer fires real rounds from an unmodified service weapon directly at the projection screen, and the scenario reacts exactly as it does to laser fire.

How does a virtual simulator reduce ammunition costs?

The same system works in laser mode, so most repetitions — drills, judgment scenarios, refresher sessions — can be run continuously at zero ammunition cost. Live fire is then reserved for the moments when instructors want the full recoil and stress of a real round.

Is there scenario content for school safety?

Yes. SiNTRES simulators include active-shooter-in-schools scenarios, including scenarios with children, and the multi-room shoot-house variant lets the outcome of one room determine what happens in the next.

What records do instructors get after training?

The hybrid simulator issues PDF reports with score, shot times, split times, target, distance, weapon and caliber. The portable simulator also produces individual and group reports and a full after-action review.
